Welcome to the homepage of the Biomechanics Research Team!
This Biomechanics Research Team is one of the research teams in the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, ITB (FMAE – ITB). This team was established by Prof. Dr. Andi Isra Mahyuddin, Prof. Dr. Tatacipta Dirgantara, and Dr. Eng. Sandro Mihradi, in 2010. As time goes by, the faculty staff who are actively researching in this team are increasing. Nowadays, there are six faculty staffs with diverse expertise of research. The team currently has around 23 undergraduates and three master students. Besides, there are already more than 90 alumni from this Biomechanics Research Team. As the name suggests, the Biomechanics Research Team is conducting a lot of research in the biomechanics field. Biomechanics is the study of the movement of living things using the science of mechanics (Hatze, 1974). The biomechanics field is developing until now so that this field consists of several branches, such as gait and posture, neurological and motor control, musculoskeletal biomechanics, sport biomechanics, dental biomechanics, etc. Recently, the Biomechanics Research Team FMAE – ITB is conducting many researches in the field of gait and posture, development of assistive devices, sport biomechanics, dental biomechanics, and other activities.
